Music fans throughout Europe are gearing up for the Eurovision Song Contest Semi-Finals on May 22 & 24. Many talented artists are vying for the big prize including the representative from Luthuania, Donny Montell. Born Donatas Montvydas, the vocalist has already won some big competitions including Luthuania’s version of Dancing With the Stars. The song that earned him the invite to compete this year’s Eurovision contest is “Love Is Blind”, though my favorite track from him so far is actually “Running Fast”. From a lyrical perspective, I’ve never really believed that love could truly be blind unless it’s simple lust. However, I understand his sentiment–you don’t know what you have until it’s gone. Besides when I see portions of Donny’s performance in the video, I’m reminded yet again of the late Michael Jackson’s enduring legacy in the world of music.
