Woodkid is the work of Yoann Lemoine, who’s been primarily known for directing videos for other artists including Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Moby. There’s an affinity with childhood rebellion as a rite of passage to becoming a man. Notice how the monsters rise in their angular lines to run with the boy, not against him. This video is for his latest EP, also titled Run boy Run.
