Olivia and Adriano Augusto Bruno Balan of Sao Paulo, Brasil are the bodies and voices behind Vintage Filter. This single, “Music”, rests comfortably next to the sounds of Corrine Dewery and Swing Out Sister (think of the drifting mood of “After Hours”, from It’s Better To Travel). Olivia’s performing background is in jazz and bossa nova, while Adriano spent time in the pioneering instrumental rock group, Zanggoba. Their own Soundcloud page mentions that the main idea behind the project was “to explore electronic soundscapes in an environment consisting of voice and analog synthesizer sounds..” with total creative freedom. Here’s my TuneCrush, “Music” from their self-titled release.
