It’s been a journey for Richard Andrew as Outasight. He’s has traveled from several indie-rap soulster EPs to all-out electro party guy on his Warner Bros. debut, Nights Like These. Singles like “Now of Never”, “Ready Set Go”, and “If I Fall Down” are the most energetic sounds he’s recorded and should be high candidates for remixes. He grabs some chorus styling from fun. (and bands like them) with the single, “I’ll Drink To That”, and the title track. While “Shine” featuring Chiddy Bang brings some of the hip-hop flavor long-time fans are used to, the pop route is also a long-time staple of Outasight’s sound. And now with the boost of major label production and marketing, it’s clear that Richard Andrew’s singing voice is going to be the main instrument now and not just reserved for the choruses. However, when your singing voice and harmonies are easy on the ears like his, that’s not a bad thing at all.
