Newtimers – EGO EP

newtimersegoart2Stockholm duo, Andreas Cavaco and Tim Lundblad are the performing, songwriting, and producing team behind Newtimers. They met in 2004, both being a part of a band called Solar with Tim on drums and Andreas as the group’s rapper. Andreas decided that he wanted to do more singing and they connected musically. Now they’ve released EGO EP which feels like modern production of the pop/soul landscape of the late 80′s/early 90′s. Lyrically, the project talks about love that can come fast (“She’s A Gun”), but doesn’t seem to last too long (“Game Over”, “Heavy Weather”) and leaving you doubting real love (“Trains”, “Waterfall Sky”). The trip is over way too soon with the EP clocking in at under 18:00 total, but it’s a proper first taste of this songwriting duo. Fans of Justin Timberlake, Owusu & Hannibal, and even Color Me Badd will appreciate. Available at iTunes and Spotify.

I’m obsessed (not in a creepy way). Wish I could find more about them online. The “game over” song is absolute FIRE.
