TuneCrush: Malkovich “Palms”

So I was driving around in Austin, Texas, visiting some friends recently and I put my phone’s music app on random. I receive so much music for this website that I like to “spin the wheel” and see which cuts stick. About three weeks earlier, I’d downloaded Great Expections from Malkovich. I remember hearing the first few songs and digging ‘em, however I didn’t listen again for a while. So while in Austin, the track “Palms” comes on. With what sounds like a 70′s Southern soul sample bed, this guy tells some real stories that caught my ear. Vignettes on life (and death) in Palms, California. I hadn’t heard that track on the album when I listened before; it got played at least twice more after that first play in Austin. So there (and here) it is. Enjoy “Palms” on the project, Great Expections, from Malkovich.

And..here’s the video.
